PAST PROJECTS

Legacy at Millennium Park Land Surveys

Gremley and Biedermann were contracted to do Alta/ NSPS surveys, Air Rights Division, historical facade location, building/ damage control and skybridge locations. The historical facade was to remain as construction of the 73 story building took place behind.

PLCS was asked to calculate the height of the tallest stack of mattresses for the Guiness book of World Records.

James Schaeffer and Schimming were contracted to provide layout control for all aspects of the project. From laying out the building control to anchor bolt locations JSS equipped the entire site with the precision and accurate structural placement it took to complete the job

Being one of the most unique looking buildings in Chicago, the Aqua was a challenging project. Gremley and Biedermann provided our client with an air rights division that separated the condominiums, the apartments, the commercial and the hotel parcels horizontally and vertically. The four were then presented in a three dimensional depiction so that the client had a better vision of what is taking place.

Gremley and Biedermann were contracted to prepare the "Central Station Subdivision" which required a large amount of field work to complete. With the use of field notes from our vast library of historic documents and current field analysis, we were able to determine the boundary line configurations. With the uses of state of the art equipment G & B were able to gather the information in a quick and accurate manner.

James Schaeffer and Schimming was assigned the task of locating certain structural elements for the extension of safety netting.

When the Cubs needed more space in the bleachers, they came to PLCS. When the Chicago Sun Times wanted to know how far Glenallen Hill's home run really was, they called PLCS. Over the years PLCS has been providing service to the home of the Cubs. Specifically, Gremley and Biedermann have prepared topographic surveys while James Schaeffer and Schimming provided construction control for the parks restoration.

Since 1930 Chicago Guarantee Survey has been preparing plats of survey for the Old Chicago Sun Times building. As you may know that building was demolished to make way for Trump Tower. All three of our companies have had a hand in the creation of the tower. Chicago Guarantee did the original Plat of Survey before construction started. James Schaeffer and Schimming worked on various layout and quality control tasks. Gremley and Biedermann then prepared the air rights division separating the commercial, residential and hotel parcels.

Over the past four decades Chicago Guarantee has been doing work for, and around the University of Chicago. Recently we provided preliminary topographic information for the quad restoration project. After the plans were finalized Chicago Guarantee then supplied the layout necessary to bring the project to completion.

While Gremley and Biedermann did the initial boundary and Topographic survey, James Schaeffer and Schimming were contracted to layout almost all aspects of the project. From column line control to grade staking, James Schaeffer and Schimming had their hands in every piece of the construction layout process. Since Soldiers Field needed to be completed in a hurry, our crews worked 24 hrs a day to complete the task on time

Throughout the years Gremley and Biederman have been contracted to create ALTA/ NSPS surveys as well as vertical locations at various locations within the property.
